And it's basically a bunch of skyscraper with trees inside...it looks nice, but will it work?

Bosco Verticale, by Boeri Studio (now Barreca & La Varra and Stefano Boeri Architetti), is a high-density tower block that experiments with the integration of a tree landscape within the facade of the architecture. The Vertical Forest, currently in construction in Milan, Italy, deal with the concept of regenerating the lost forests on the ground within the inhabitable space of buildings. The towers are 80 metres and 112 metres tall. Together they will have the capacity to hold 480 big and medium sized trees, 250 small size trees, 11,000 groundcover plants and 5,000 shrubs – the equivalent of a hectare of forest...

It will be ready in 2013...

Music brings people together...

Playing for change is a multimedia music project created by the American producer and sound engineer Mark Johnson with his Timeless Media Group, that seeks to bring together musicians from around the world. Playing For Change also created a separate non-profit organization called the Playing For Change Foundation which builds music schools for children around the world.
Using mobile recording equipment, they recorded local musicians performing the same song, interpreted into their own style...

Whitney Houston passed away...and the person who made the video below must be kicking him/herself that there isn't a longer video. This will go in the history books...

This summer her last movie will also hit the theaters, Sparkle. The movie intended to have Aaliyah would have played the leading role, but she died before filming started.
And I guess that the same thing will happen with Whitney's songs as with Michael Jacksons songs after he passed away...sell big time again.

Whitney passed away 48 years old...the queen of the power-ballads is no more.
I have no doubt that the Grammy Awards will pay tribute to this great voice.

I had never heard of KickStarter before I came across the Glif. And I'm discovering how great this website is.

A lot of projects got a great start because people invested in smart idea's.

One of the nicest projects I have seen is The Quad Lock Bar Mount PRO, it's a mounting system for the iPhone 4S and the producer claims that it is "the lightest iPhone bike mounting system on the Market!".
Because of the Quad Lock dual action locking mechanism you can secure your iPhone to your MTB, road bike or motorbike.

The Bar Mount PRO can be mounted in just seconds using quick mount o-rings or for a more permanent method the mount can be secured using Zip Ties. I think I'll go for the last option because I live in the Netherlands.

It looks beautiful and the whole design and it's components is so smart...iLike...and I'm going to buy one!

A copy of the Mona Lisa has been discovered in the Prado which was painted in Leonardo’s studio—created side by side with the original that now hangs in the Louvre. This sensational find will transform our understanding of the world’s most famous picture.

Conservators at the Prado in Madrid recently made an astonishing discovery, hidden beneath black overpaint. What was assumed to be a replica of the Mona Lisa made after Leonardo’s death had actually been painted by one of his key pupils, working alongside the master. The picture is more than just a studio copy—it changed as Leonardo developed his original composition.

The final traces of overpaint are now being removed by Prado conservators, revealing the fine details of the delicate Tuscan landscape, which mirrors the background of Leonardo’s masterpiece

It's called Person of Interest...

A computer wizard named Finch developed a machine that is used to detect information leading to acts of terrorism before they happen. The machine separates the information gathered into two categories: relevant and irrelevant. Finch, however, discovered that the irrelevant information often led to other acts of violent crime.

So, he, before going underground, developed a back door into the system which only spits out the social security number of a central person involved in the crime.

Supposedly dead in the authority's eyes, Finch hires John Reese, an ex-CIA special operations agent, who, too, dropped out of life after his girlfriend was killed as the result of a professional incident, and he was dissatisfied with the government's handling of the situation...
